I am a big fan of realistic alternative medical treatment.  I particularly value information coming from someone that is living with an ailment versus the claims of some company trying to sell me something.  I came across a great blog website Colitis-Aid.com which focuses on alternative treatments for IBS, IBD including Crohn′s and Ulcerative Colitis.  These are miserable ailments and it saddens me that the medical world is still in the dark on many diseases and resort to dishing out dangerous medications or surgery when their are common sense alternatives out their that people have to find on their own.  IBD sufferers have found the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), which has helped thousands and yet it is ignored by most doctors.  Probiotics also seem like a no-brainer treatment to explore for IBD but also are mostly ignored by the medical industry.  What I also like about Colitis-Aid.com is that it is not trying to offer fantastic cures, just good advice on alternative treatments that have worked for many.  Tips on managing chronic illness and various supplements as well as diet. The blog has a lot of good information about standard medical treatments offered today too and best ways to deal with and manage visits to the doctor.  I think this site is a great example of what blogging is supposed to be about.
